One of the highlights of the semester for the SMC Anthropology Club are the cultural dinners. A visit to an Ethiopian restaurant in the spring proved to be a massive hit. Last night, members of the Club met up for a dinner at Shamshiri Grill, a popular Persian restaurant in Westwood. Club President, Melina Sarian, explained the multitude of dishes and some of the traditions surrounding Persian food. I tried tahdig (crispy rice) with Ghormeh Sabzi (Iranian herb stew) for the first time and have to say that I’m a fan. We are already planning our next dinner night and, of course, are always open to suggestions! 😋
